Meridian expects Lake Manapouri to enter the low range later this week.
In the low range, generation output is restricted by the Manapouri-Te Anau Development Act 1963 and associated Operating Guidelines for Levels of Lakes Manapouri and Te Anau which amongst other things require that Meridian use its best endeavors to ensure the rates of drawdown do not exceed the natural rates of drawdown averaged over four days, being 0.05m per day for Lake Manapouri.
Meridian’s generation offers will be adjusted accordingly.
