Ethical Business

We’re taking action to further enhance and embed ethical practices in our business.

Our ethical practices include ensuring that we have a genuine consideration for anybody materially affected by our business decisions, ensuring that we use and manage natural resources responsibly, avoiding engagement with high-risk industries (or seeking Executive Team approval first) and evaluating those with whom we enter business relationships to ensure they act consistently with our purpose and values, including taking action on climate change and upholding human rights.

We apply our ethical standards and commitment to respecting human rights in our procurement processes, for example through checking companies against anti-modern-slavery measures when sourcing materials for solar panels and making sure that we use reputable companies as we look for new ways to reduce our emissions.

Code of Conduct

We have a Code of Conduct that sets out the behaviours expected of all those who work for Meridian. This was updated in 2024 with a new focus area outlining our ethical standards, what they mean for our people and where our people can go for further guidance if they face ethical dilemmas.

Tackling Zero

Tackling Zero is Meridian’s quarterly newsletter for people whose roles or studies are focused on sustainability, or for whom this is an area of interest. Each issue will offer Meridian’s insights into a topical sustainability issue, as well as stories on how we, our customers and supply chain partners are tackling sustainability. It also includes links to recent Meridian disclosures such as new policies and reports.
