Four Free power plan
1. The Four Free power plan offered by Meridian provides customers with free electricity usage during four free off-peak periods each day.
2. This plan is available until further notice and is open to existing customers or new customers who meet the following criteria.
3. To be eligible for this plan, you must:
- be a residential consumer as listed on the national electricity registry;
- meet Meridian’s standard customer eligibility requirements (for example: credit criteria, refer to Meridian’s Standard Terms and Conditions for the Supply of Electricity for more information) and any other reasonable eligibility criteria we may apply;
- have an eligible and actively communicating electricity smart meter;
- have a single ICP in an eligible network as determined by Meridian from time to time – see
https://nextgen.meridianenergy.co.nz/core-landing-page for a list of currently eligible networks; - pay, or have paid, all your Meridian bills on or before their due dates.
4. You’ll be subject to Meridian’s Standard Terms and Conditions for the Supply of Electricity.
5. The Four Free power plan is a Variable Rate Plan, which means all rates under this plan can be changed at any time. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice in advance of any increase in our rates, fees or charges together with our reasons for that change.
6. Meridian will reflect the free power you receive on your bill to ensure you’re not paying for any power used during your four free off-peak periods.
7. If any of the following events occur during the term of your Four Free power plan, Meridian will contact you and your Four Free power plan will be replaced by another pricing plan of your choosing:
- if you do not continue to meet the eligibility criteria set out in paragraph 1 above; or
- if your smart meter is permanently damaged and stops communicating to us (Meridian relies on your smart meter sending us meter readings every 30 minutes to be able to invoice you and apply your credit accurately).
8. Should you wish to leave the Four Free power plan, you can do so at any time. Please contact us and we will arrange for you to go back to another energy plan. You may terminate the Four Free power plan at any time without notice to Meridian.
9. Meridian may vary this Four Free power plan at any time by posting revised terms and conditions on our website.
